Getting into the Venue
The Old Vic Theatre main entrance is situated on The Cut. There are 3 steps into the foyer from street level with handrails in place. An alternative, step-free entrance is at the side of the theatre on Waterloo Road. This entrance has lift access to the Box Office, foyer and Penny bar and café, on the basement level. Drop-off points can be found on Waterloo Road and Webber Street.The Stalls are wheelchair accessible from the foyer. There are 10 wheelchair spaces in The Stalls as well as 10 companion spaces.
The Penny Bar and café includes two accessible toilets and there is another located near the auditorium.
Customer Assistance
Those who wish to use the alternative entrance must arrive 30 minutes prior to the performance and notify a member of staff, who will assist them. Staff are on hand to help with navigation throughout the theatre. An Access Host will look after access patrons for the duration of their visit.Transfers are available and the Access Host will assist with transferring patrons. Wheelchair users do not need to bring a companion.
How to Book
For those who request special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Wheelchair users and their companions are eligible for concessions and booking priorities.Access patrons are able to sign up for The Old Vic's 'Access Membership', through which they are able to book wheelchair spaces online. Section Accessibility
Stalls
The Stalls are wheelchair accessible from the foyer.
There are 10 wheelchair spaces dotted throughout The Stalls, each with a companion seat, located on one end of Row T, Row S, Row N, Row M, Row H, Row F, Row D and both ends of Row B.

Stage Stalls
The Stage Stalls are on the same level as the Stalls and can be accessed from the theatre’s foyer. There are steps up to each row and you cannot leave your seat during the performance, so this section may not be suitable for those with limited mobility or anyone who may need easy access to the toilets, bars, or foyer area mid-show.
Dress Circle
The Dress Circle can be accessed via 29 steps up from the foyer. This section is not recommended for those with limited mobility as there is no customer lift.
Lilian Baylis Circle
The Lilian Baylis Circle can be accessed via 49 steps up from the theatre foyer. This section is not suitable for those with limited mobility.
