About Oliver! The Musical
When young orphan Oliver escapes the harsh Victorian workhouse, he is taken under the wing of one of London’s most lively gangs. Led by wily Fagin and the Artful Dodger, Oliver joins a team of light-fingered pickpockets and finds a friend in warm-hearted Nancy. But when he is wrongly arrested for stealing, Oliver’s new life and rag-tag family come under threat… until an unexpected saviour shows him that true happiness might be just around the corner.
Based on Charles Dickens’ Oliver Twist , Lionel Bart’s Oliver! is one of the most beloved shows of all time, and its sensational score - including “Food Glorious Food”, “Consider Yourself”, “You’ve Got to Pick-a-Pocket or Two”, “I’d Do Anything”, “Oom Pah Pah” and “As Long As He Needs Me” - and vivid storytelling have made it the gateway to musical theatre for generations of children. Since debuting at Wimbledon Theatre in 1960, it has played to sold-out crowds in London and on Broadway, toured the UK and been adapted into an Academy Award-winning film.
A Spectacular New Production of the Beloved Classic
Powerhouse producer Cameron Mackintosh and Olivier Award-winning director/choreographer Matthew Bourne have collaborated on this thrilling revival of Lionel Bart’s musical, which is in London direct from its premiere at Chichester Festival Theatre.
The duo are responsible for some of UK theatre’s biggest productions: Mackintosh has driven the success of Les Miserables , The Phantom of the Opera and Mary Poppins , whilst Bourne’s bright and bold ballets including Nutcracker! and The Red Shoes are genre-defining spectacles that audiences return to again and again.

Oliver! London Reviews
User Reviews
Great version of this old classic. Some really 'panto' style slap stick complemented by some really sensitive and authentic performances by Fagin and Nancy. High energy and left singing these well known classics. Well worth a look in a cheaper seat.
The show is a real crowd pleaser and the set is very impressive, although sometimes it did feel like it would have benefitted from being on a larger stage as it felt to me like there were a lot of actors in a small space for the big company numbers. Read more
