Getting into the Venue

Royal Albert Hall has step-free, ramped access at Doors 1, 3, 8, 9 and 12. Door 8 is closest to the car park. Lifts are closest to Doors 1 and 8, with access to all levels. Arena Foyers and bars can be accessed via a platform lift at Door 1.

The Box Office is at Door 12, with ramped access.

Customer Assistance

Stewards are on-hand to assist visitors to the Royal Albert Hall. It is advisable that anybody in need of assistance arrives at the venue at least 15 minutes before the doors open, and make themselves known to a member of staff. 

A limited number of wheelchairs are available for customer use, which can be reserved in advance or requested from a Steward upon arrival at the Hall, subject to availability.

For those who need special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements.

Section Accessibility

Arena

The Arena is accessed from the Arena Foyer via the main stairs or lift at Door 1. There are 11 steps, with handrails, up to each Arena entrance from the Foyer. This section is not accessible to wheelchair users. The closest wheelchair-accessible toilet is on the Arena Foyer level, by Door 1.

Stalls

The Stalls can be accessed step-free from Ground level, with all wheelchair spaces at the back of the section. There are two steps down between each row, with support rails at the end of each. The total number of steps down to the front row is 21. The closest wheelchair-accessible toilets are on Ground level, by the Door 4 porch, Door 8 porch and Door 12.

Boxes

The Loggia boxes are not accessible to wheelchair users. These boxes are accessed five steps up from Ground level. Inside each box, there are two steps down to the back row, and one additional step to the front row.

The Grand Tier and Second Tier boxes can be reached step-free by the lifts at Door 1 and Door 8. The entrances to each box are usually 66cm–71cm wide, with a few reaching up to 140cm. Wheelchair users can access the back rows of some boxes. Seating is split level, with a total of four steps in Grand Tier boxes and one step in Second Tier boxes.

Rausing Circle

The Rausing Circle is accessible via the lifts at Doors 1 and 8. The front row is one step up, and there are a total of 21 steps up to the back row. Stepped aisles have support rails, although the section is quite steep and therefore may not be suitable for visitors with limited mobility. There are six wheelchair spaces in the Rausing Circle, with level access. The closest wheelchair-accessible toilet is by Door 8.
