Getting into the Venue
The Savoy Theatre main entrance is located just off the Strand on Savoy Court. The foyer and Box Office can be accessed step-free. A drop-off point is available outside the theatre main entrance.All sections of the auditorium must be accessed by stairs as there is no customer lift. An alternative step-free entrance to the Dress Circle is on Carting Lane. Those who wish to use this entrance should make themselves known to Box Office staff upon arrival and will be escorted to the Carting Lane entrance, which is on the other side of the theatre and involves navigating steps.
Customer Assistance
Patrons with access needs should arrive at the Savoy Theatre 30 minutes before the performance is due to begin. Staff are on hand to assist with navigation throughout the theatre. Those who wish to use the alternative entrance on Carting Lane must notify a member of the Front of House team, who will escort them to the entrance. Alternatively, patrons can wait at the Carting Lane entrance and call the Stage Door on 020 7845 6050 who will open the alternative entrance.Transfers are available and those wishing to transfer are advised to bring a companion. Staff are able to store wheelchairs for the duration of the performance. An at-seat service is available within the theatre.
How to Book
For those who require special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Section Accessibility
Stalls
The Stalls can be accessed via 75 steps from the theatre foyer. Once the auditorium is reached, there is a gentle slope towards each row. There is no customer lift.
Extra legroom can be found in aisle seats.
Dress Circle
The Dress Circle can be accessed via 32 steps from the foyer and is suitable for those with limited mobility. Alternatively the Dress Circle can be reached via the step-free accessible entrance on Carting Lane, which is suitable for wheelchair users.
There are 2 step-free wheelchair spaces available in this section with seating nearby for companions. There is a clear, unobstructed view of the stage from the wheelchair spaces. Transfers are available at the end of Row F and Row G and must be reached by 2-5 shallow steps. All rows must be reached via a shallow step with handrails.
Staff are on hand to assist with navigation throughout the theatre and an at-seat service is available.
Upper Circle
The Grand Circle can be accessed via a separate door next to the main entrance. There are 2 steps to get into the Grand Circle and a further 2 steps per row going up or down, depending on where you are sitting. The least amount of steps in this section would be at row E or F. The toilets are right at the back of the Grand Circle, so these would not be accessible for anyone with limited mobility.
Legroom is extremely tight in this section.
