Sheridan Smith heads to Greece
Olivier Award winner Sheridan Smith returns to the West End in a revival of Willy Russell’s joyful rom-com Shirley Valentine. The feel-good story of a housewife’s self-discovery in Greece runs for 12 weeks at the Duke of York’s Theatre.Shirley is a wife, a mother, and a woman who’s lost her own identity. Now middle-aged with her youthful dreams packed away, she finds herself talking to the kitchen wall as she cooks eggs and chips for her husband. Is this all there is to life? Maybe not. Shirley’s friend has won two tickets to Greece and adventure awaits…
Willy Russell's life-affirming one-woman play was adapted into a film in 1989. This new revival is directed by Matthew Dunster (2:22 A Ghost Story).
Shirley Valentine tickets are a fantastic opportunity to enjoy Sheridan Smith in her element on stage. Smith is one of the UK’s most popular performers, with credits including Funny Girl, Legally Blonde and a BAFTA-winning performance in Mrs Biggs.
This story of one housewife throwing caution (and her apron) to the wind is an unmissable treat. Book tickets for Shirley Valentine and enjoy this joyous play for a limited season in London.
