Home of Les Miserables, the Sondheim Theatre has a standard proscenium arch layout with three levels - the Stalls, Dress Circle and Grand Circle - and two Boxes at the rear of the Dress Circle level, Judi’s Box and Maggie’s Box, named after Judi Dench and Maggie Smith. On the Dress Circle and Grand Circle level there are also Slips and Loges. The Slips are slim rows at the far side of both Circles, which curve around the auditorium, and both offer a restricted view due to the angle. The Grand Circle Slips are bench-style seats, while the Dress Circle Slips are standard theatre seats. The Loges are located behind the Slips on the Dress Circle level. Similar to a Box, with movable seats in a small, raised, private section, the Schonberg and Boublil Loges are named after Les Miserables’ book, music and lyric writers.
There is an overhang in the Stalls, which begins around Row P. This causes a restriction at the top of the stage, so is worth bearing in mind for Les Mis as this obscures a portion of the barricade at several points during Act Two. There is also an overhang in the Dress Circle, beginning around Row F, which restricts the very back row (Row F) and the Boxes, again cutting off the top of the barricade.
Additional restrictions in the auditorium are caused by safety rails toward the front and along the aisles of the Circles, as well as restrictions in the Loges and Slips due to the angle of these seats to the stage.

It's worth sitting in the slip seats of the Dress Circle, especially if you have seen Les Miserables before. These seats are usually heavily discounted, but you can see the entire stage quite close-up from these seats with a bit of leaning! Otherwise, sit centrally in the Upper Circle for a distant, but clear view of the stage.
The best seats in the house for this particular production can be found in the centre and front of the Dress Circle, where you can feel involved in the action and can take it all in. Alternatively, sit in the front of the Stalls to feel entirely immersed!
The Schönberg Loge and Boublil Loge, named after the composers of Les Miserables , are great seats to book for a special occasion. The seats are located at the sides of the Dress Circle, adjacent to the stage. Just like a traditional theatre box, the loges are accessed by their own private entrance and consist of six freestanding chairs enabling patrons to get the best view and comfort. These loge seats, such as Dress Circle Boublil Loge A4 and Dress Circle Schönberg Loge C5 , receive excellent reviews from SeatPlan users. The reviews particularly praise the legroom and overall experience, which outweighs their side view location. Priced similarly to seats in the rear stalls and dress circle, booking seats in the Schönberg Loge and Boublil Loge will elevate your visit to the Sondheim Theatre and the world's longest-running musical.
Two boxes are also located in the rear of the Dress Circle at the Sondheim Theatre – Maggie’s Box and Judi’s Box. These seats are not recommended unless discounted or no other similarly priced seats are available. The boxes include a private entrance and freestanding chairs, however the view is restricted by the overhang from the Grand Circle and the heads of patrons in the Dress Circle, due to the poor rake.
