What Is the Ballet State Ballet of Georgia: Swan Lake About?
When Prince Siegfried falls in love with the beautiful Princess Odette, he doesn’t know her biggest secret - and that he may be her salvation. The Princess has been cursed by the dastardly sorcerer Von Rothbart, and is only human by night; by day, Odette is a swan, and only a vow of true love can restore her humanity permanently. When the sorcerer's daughter, the Black Swan Odile, interferes with a cruel trick, causing Siegfried to mistakenly betray his love, Odette may lose her last chance to become human again, forever…
Swan Lake is brought to life by the company of “versatile and accomplished” dancers (The New York Times), in this full-length production of the classical ballet, featuring sumptuous costumes, stunning sets, and an immaculate corps de swans, set to Tchaikovsky’s timeless score.
