Julia Donaldson’s wintry adventure Stick Man arrives in a flurry of festive fun at the Leicester Square Theatre for a third year running. This colourful story about a very big adventure is perfect for young theatregoers.
Stick Man lives quite happily in his family tree with his wife and three little twiglets. But one day he must venture into the great outdoors, where dogs try to play fetch with him, birds try to build nests with him, and humans try to light a fire with him!
As the weather gets colder and snow starts to fall, how on earth will Stick Man make it back home in one piece?
Based on Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s picture book, Stick Man on stage has proven so popular in London that it just keeps coming back. Produced by Scamp Theatre (The Scarecrow’s Wedding; Pirate Nan), it is directed by Sally Cookson, whose magical family shows Peter Pan and Treasure Island played at the National Theatre.
Cookson is joined by composer Benji Bower and designer Katie Sykes as they bring this joyous wintry delight to life.
With a heart-warming and exciting trek through the forest and plenty of bright costumes and songs to enjoy, Stick Man is a guaranteed winner for families wanting to warm up at the theatre this festive season. It returns to the Leicester Square Theatre from 19 October 2019.
