This mischievous musical is brought to life by an award-winning creative team. Suhayla El-Bushra (The Ramayana, Hollyoaks) adapts Roald Dahl’s classic tale with a script full of humour and heart, providing book and lyrics, while Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, known for his musical work as Sinkane, provides the show’s infectious melodies alongside additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady (Romeo and Juliet, Lord of the Rings).
The production is developed and directed by Emily Lim (Another Fine Mess), with co-direction and inventive puppetry design by Toby Olié (Life of Pi, Pinocchio). Set and costume design is by Fly Davis (Caroline, or Change, Standing at the Sky’s Edge), with puppetry co-design and supervision by Daisy Beattie (Ocean at the End of the Lane).
