About The Snowman

When a young boy looks out of his window on Christmas Eve, he is surprised to see that the snowman he built has come alive! As his new frosty friend beckons him on an adventure, the pair soar up, up, up into the night sky. Join them as they meet Father Christmas, dancing penguins, woodland creatures and even dancing pineapples. But can they escape Jack Frost and get back home in time for Christmas morning?

Adapted from Raymond Briggs’ children’s story and Dianne Jackson’s celebrated animated film, The Snowman is a timeless tale that is truly breathtaking on stage. Its gorgeous designs and costumes combine with music from a live orchestra - who perform the famous Aled Jones number “Walking in the Air”- to create a dance show that is accessible for all ages.

The Snowman On Stage - 27 Years of Magic

This festive delight premiered at Birmingham Repertory Theatre in 1993 and has become a London Christmas theatre tradition for generations. Now in its 27th year in London, it is still attracting audiences who are excited to experience the magic and childlike wonder of this heartwarming production. For many children, it is their very first West End show and one that has sparked a love of theatre in them.

The creative team includes Olivier Award-winning director Bill Alexander, designer Ruari Murchison, lighting designer Tim Mitchell and choreographer Robert North. A live orchestra accompanies the action on stage, as James and his new friend take flight to far-off fantasy lands.

Better than I thought. For the younger audience. Babies on laps present so be warned - lots of crying, scared kids, rustling of snacks. Kids running up and down the aisle during the show. You do manage to tune them out after a while. No booster seat Read more

Lovely show, really enchanting and lovely music, costumes and dancing. Flying scenes were particularly special. The first half was a little bit slow, we enjoyed the second half more. Note that this show does not have dialogue, much like the TV versio Read more
