Hadestown on Broadway Tickets

Walter Kerr Theatre

Anaïs Mitchell’s Tony Award-winning mythic musical takes audiences on a hell-raising, heart-breaking journey to the underworld.

Enjoy a hell-raising, heart-rending journey to the Underworld with Anaïs Mitchell’s Hadestown. This Tony Award-winning story of love and fear amidst an industrial mythic underworld is enchanting audiences at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

Based on Greek mythology transported into a rust belt setting, Hadestown follows young lovers Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone. Eurydice and Orpheus meet in the blush of spring, but soon fall on hard times in the unforgiving winter. When Eurydice is lured in by the greedy and commanding Hades with an offer too tempting to refuse, her husband must travel to the underworld to get her back. With a folk and blues-inspired soundtrack that seeps into your bones, Hadestown is a spellbinding journey that resonates with modern America.

The Hadestown Broadway cast includes Lola Tung (Eurydice), Jordan Fisher (Orpheus), Ani DiFranco (Persephone), Phillip Boykin (Hades) and Lillias White (Hermes).

The Hadestown musical was developed from Anais Mitchell’s concept album with Obie Award-winning director Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812). Mitchell provides the final book, music and lyrics, and the show features choreography by David Neumann. The industrial underworld is brilliantly realized by set designer Rachel Hauck, whose credits include This Wide Night and Tiny Beautiful Things.

Pitting love against fear and inviting audiences on a hell-raising journey to the underworld, Hadestown at the Walter Kerr Theatre promises to be a new musical obsession.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much are Hadestown Broadway tickets?

Ticket prices range from about $59 to $270, depending on the performance date and time, and overall availability.

What are the most expensive tickets for Hadestown on Broadway?

Center Orchestra Rows B-L, and the first few seats into Left and Right Orchestra on these rows, cost up to $270.

For a show as richly detailed as this, with incredible design and choreography, seats a few rows back such as G114 are fantastic for feeling completely immersed in the tragic story whilst taking in the entire set at once. One theatergoer who sat here was full of praise, commenting, “best seat I’ve ever had! I could see all the expressions and the tears in their eyes!”

How can I get cheap tickets for Hadestown on Broadway?

Book a few weeks early to get the best choice of prices at this popular musical, and if you can attend midweek, do so. Tickets on Tuesday-Thursday are often a bit cheaper than weekends. Matinees are an even better way to save, with previous price differences of up to 12% on certain areas of the theater.

The best place to sit to save money and still have a fantastic experience is in the Left or Right Mezzanine. Seats here can be as much as 56% cheaper than premium, but have a great view of the stage without feeling distant. Mezzanine F23, on the left side of the section, is just four rows from the back but as one reviewer puts it, “in a smaller theatre like this, you’d be hard-pressed to find a bad seat”! On the opposite side, D18 is praised as a “good seat for a zoomed out view”. If you don’t mind steep stairs and heights, the cheapest seats up in the Balcony also have a great view of the stage.
