Just in Time is a brand new musical that tells the story of the man behind the music and spans Grammy Award-winning singer Bobby Darin’s dazzling career, from teen idol to international heartthrob.
From humble beginnings in East Harlem as a struggling songwriter, to becoming an international superstar, Darin had a short, but remarkable life. A friend and contemporary of Elvis, Bobby Darin did it all - from multi-million selling, award-winning albums, involvement in politics and an acting career that garnered Oscar nominations, TV and film roles, and even his own variety show.
Jam-packed with Darin’s iconic hits such as "Splish Splash", "Beyond the Sea", "Mack the Knife" and "Dream Lover", Just in Time is a jazzy new musical that plunges audiences into the swinging atmosphere of an intimate nightclub - complete with live band - and tells the story of a once in a lifetime talent who was determined to make a splash with the little time he had.

Broadway legend Jonathan Groff makes all your dreams come true, returning to the bright lights following a Tony Award-winning turn in Merrily We Roll Along, alongside Daniel Radcliffe. Groff is a Grammy and Obie Award winner and has racked up several previous Tony and Grammy nominations for his roles in Spring Awakening and Hamilton . Groff has also had an illustrious TV career with starring roles in Glee , Netflix thriller Mindhunter and HBO’s Looking - and savvy fans might recognise his dulcet tones as those of reindeer-obsessed dreamboat Kristoff from Disney’s Frozen .
Groff is also no stranger to the role, having played Bobby Darin in an earlier version of the project, 2018 Off-Broadway production The Bobby Darin Story.
Creative Team
Just in Time is based on an original concept by Ted Chapin and is developed and directed by Tony, Grammy and Drama Desk Award winner Alex Timbers (Moulin Rouge, American Utopia ), with a book by Warren Leight (Side Man, In Treatment ) and Isaac Oliver (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, GLOW ). Music supervision and arrangements are by Andrew Resnick (Parade, The King and I ) with choreography by Shannon Lewis (A Little Night Music, SNL ).

Absolutely head-spinning. Groff and the music itself all fantastic. Beautifully staged and directed. There's even a well written book, a rarity for a bio musical. Would see this show again.
