About Our Town

Thornton Wilder’s timeless tale of small-town life is set in the fictional Grovers Corners, New Hampshire, where a Stage Manager narrates the daily lives of the locals. Two families take center stage: the Webbs and the Gibbs. Emily and George have enjoyed a friendship since childhood, and as romance blooms it is about to transform into a marriage.

As the nuptials draw closer, the stage is set for a magnificent study of what it means to be alive in this Pulitzer Prize-winning triumph. Since debuting in 1938, Our Town has been performed across the world, and its lyrical tale of life, death and love resonates regardless of country or language. In this new revival, directed by Tony Award winner Kenny Leon (Purlie Victorious; Topdog/Underdog), the decades-old tale becomes one for the 21st century.

The show features a cast of 28 actors, including The Big Bang Theory star Jim Parsons as the Stage Manager. Parsons is an Emmy and Golden Globe Award-winning actor and has appeared on Broadway in The Normal Heart, Harvey, An Act of God, The Boys in the Band and Mother Play.

Parsons is joined in Our Town by Katie Holmes (All My Sons; Batman Begins), Zoey Deutch (Netflix’s The Politician), Ephraim Sykes (Ain’t Too Proud), Billy Eugene Jones (Purlie Victorious; Fat Ham), Richard Thomas (To Kill a Mockingbird), Michelle Wilson (Sweat), Julie Halston (Tootsie), and Donald Webber Jr. (Hamilton).
