About Prayer For The French RepublicIn 1944, a Jewish couple in Paris is desperately waiting for news about their missing family. Over 70 years later, their great-grandchildren find themselves asking the same question as their ancestors: “are we safe?”
Five generations of a French Jewish family weave through this moving and compelling play, in a rich tapestry that explores individual and collective history, home and the ripple effects of ancient hatred. During its Manhattan Theatre Club premiere, The New York Times hailed it “thought-provoking, heart-wrenching and wickedly funny”.
