The Roommate Broadway Tickets On Sale Now
Real-life friends Patti LuPone and Mia Farrow share a stage on Broadway in wickedly funny comedy The Roommate. Jen Silverman’s riveting one-act play defies expectations with its story of two very different women who realise that being bad has never felt so good. Packed with secrets, revelations and two characters who are more alike than they think, catch it at the Booth Theatre this Fall.About The Roommate
Sharon is recently divorced and has never had a roommate before. But needs must, and she’s about to welcome Robyn - looking for somewhere to hide and start over - into her Iowa home. As the two chalk-and-cheese women get to know each other, Sharon uncovers cagey Robyn’s secrets and begins to unpack a deeply-held desire to change her life.Witty, profound and darkly funny, The Roommate is a portrait of fledgling intimacy between two women from completely different backgrounds and their joint navigation of identity, morality and reinvention. It premiered in 2017 at the Williamstown Theater Festival with a different cast, and now makes its Broadway premiere, directed by
Tony Award winner Jack O’Brien (The Full Monty, Hairspray, The Coast of Utopia).
Patti LuPone and Mia Farrow in The Roommate
Patti LuPone and Mia Farrow star in The Roommate, with both making a triumphant return to Broadway after years away.LuPone is a three-time Tony Award winner (Evita, Gypsy, Company) and two-time Olivier Award winner (Les Misérables / Cradle Will Rock, Company) and in 2006 was inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.
BAFTA and Golden Globe nominee Farrow is best known for her screen work, with credits including Rosemary’s Baby.
LuPone famously gave up her Actors’ Equity Association membership in 2022 and had no intention of returning to the stage for a long time. The allure of working alongside long-time friend Farrow - who last appeared on Broadway in 2014’s Love Letters - proved enough to tempt her back, however. This sharp and surprising comedy is a fantastic opportunity to see the duo bounce off each other as characters who seem to be polar opposites but soon find common ground.

Great show! Wonderful performances by the two stars. Play itself was very good, not mind blowing, but the two actresses easily carried it home to the audience.
