James Norton stars in this unflinching book-to-stage adaptation, which extends its London season due to phenomenal demand.
The epic theatrical event of 2023
James Norton stars in visceral and haunting stage phenomenon A Little Life, one of 2023’s biggest theatrical events. It broke records when it went on sale, and now audiences have a second chance to book tickets as it moves to the Savoy Theatre. A Little Life is the story of NYC college friends JB, Willem, Malcolm and Jude, who fall out and reunite through the highs and lows of addiction, ambition and jealousy. At the centre of their friendship is high-flying lawyer Jude and his secret, traumatic past. Happy Valley star James Norton is Jude in A Little Life at the Savoy Theatre. The main cast is completed by Omari Douglas as JB, Luke Thompson as Willem and Zach Wyatt as Malcolm. The A Little Life play is adapted from Hanya Yanagihara’s Booker Prize-winning novel by Ivo van Hove. Van Hove’s incredible track record for piercing and bold theatre work ensures that, much like the book, the play will move, discomfort and challenge in equal measure. A Little Life tickets are some of the most sought-after this year. Don’t miss your chance to see this devastating show in London.
This production features strong language, nudity, sexual violence, physical and emotional abuse, self-harm, and suicide.

This show was absolutely amazing, I was apprehensive as it was a long show, and I’ve never been to anything like this before, but I was gripped from the start. The actors were great and really portrayed their parts fantastically! The show is graphic, Read more

It’s very much a no holes barred piece that initiates several triggers and should not be watched (or read) lightly, and includes full frontal nudity from two of the cast. This show will leave a lasting impression upon you, and if you struggle to cope with any of the topics it’s important you talk with somebody. Jude is the central character whose dark, violent past has shaped his equally dark, violent future, all of which he hides from his friends Willem, JB and Malcolm. It shows the slow self destruction of an individual who is unable to escape the shame and torment of the past. It’s powerful. It’s emotive. It’s utterly compelling. James Norton and Luke Thompson take being a tour de force to another sensational level. Their heartfelt acting will leave you with chills, and a full banquet of food for thought. I can’t imagine the toll this would take on James Norton, night after night, as he is the only cast member to remain on stage for the entirety of the show. Let’s not forget the rest of the cast who are gritty, raw and engrossing in their portrayals. To be so up close and personal to the cast that you can almost touch them; to see, hear and smell things that others in the auditorium might not, and on such a powerful piece of theatre, will make this an experience I will never forget.
