Accidental Death of an Anarchist Tickets
Dario Fo’s riotous satire about police corruption is as relevant as ever in this 5-star revival, starring Daniel Rigby and Tony Gardner.
Razor-sharp satire brought bang up to date
An Anarchist has fallen to his death, but did he jump, or was he pushed? Scandals, coverups and corruption are torn apart in a furiously funny revival of Dario Fo’s satire Accidental Death of an Anarchist at Theatre Royal Haymarket. When an Anarchist falls from a police station window, an inquiry is called to establish the facts. But as the police rush to get their stories straight, the Maniac is taken into custody and seizes his chance to lead them on an increasingly-absurd recreation of their version of events…
Tom Basden’s riotous adaptation of Italian playwright Dario Fo’s 1970s satire brings the story to 21st-century London, with its sights set squarely on the Metropolitan police and metropolitan elite. After hit seasons at Sheffield Theatres and Lyric Hammersmith, this outrageous, razor-sharp farce transfers to the West End, directed by Daniel Raggett.
BAFTA Award winner Daniel Rigby leads the Accidental Death of an Anarchist cast in a towering performance as the Maniac, alongside Tony Gardner (The Thick Of It; Fresh Meat).
This wickedly funny play feels as fresh now as it did 40 years ago; book Accidental Death of an Anarchist tickets to enjoy a European classic that doesn’t pull its punches.
