About Crazy For You

When Bobby Child travels down to Deadrock, Nevada to foreclose on a mortgage, he gets a lot more than he bargained for: the mortgage is on a rundown Victorian theatre and the owner’s daughter Polly makes his heart flutter. Will Bobby take the chance to live out his dreams, or will he do what his demanding fiancée and mother want and run the family finance business?

Joyful, exuberant and completely giddy, the Crazy For You musical is a feel-good celebration of music, dancing and entertainment. It is based on Ira and George Gershwin’s 1930 musical Girl Crazy, with songs from other productions also included, and won the 1993 Tony Award and 1993 Olivier Award for Best Musical.

Crazy For You Cast and Creative Team

Five-time Tony Award winner Susan Stroman (The Producers) directs and choreographs this new 30th-anniversary production, in London direct from Chichester Festival Theatre; her soaring tap routines are performed by a cast including Charlie Stemp (Half a Sixpence) as Bobby and Carly Anderson (Sunny Afternoon) as Polly.

Other creatives include Tony Award-winning scenic designer Beowulf Boritt (on Broadway: New York, New York; Act One; Flying Over Sunset), costume designer William Ivey Long and lighting designer Ken Billington.
