Fleabag Tickets
For the last ever time, Phoebe Waller-Bridge stars in Fleabag, when the multi-award-winning play comes to the West End's Wyndham's Theatre for a strictly limited run. Following a sold-out run Off-Broadway, a phenomenal tour and a hit TV series, this is your chance to see the piece in its original, theatrical form.
Originally produced by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Vicky Jones and Francesca Moody’s DryWrite, Fleabag previewed at London’s Soho Theatre before making its 2013 Edinburgh Festival debut. Since then, the piece has been performed across the UK, South Korea and Australia. Highly decorated, it counts a Fringe First and The Stage Best Solo Performer Award among its accolades. In 2016, it was translated into a BBC Three and Amazon Prime Video TV series. Waller-Bridge, who starred in the programme, was awarded a BAFTA for Best Female Comedy Performance.
Fleabag dances on the intersection between laughter and pain. It’s a look at one woman struggling to stay afloat amid an emotionally miserly family and inadequate relationships, all the while pursued by the blackest of memories. Turning to sex as a way to forget, she is an astonishingly observed study of a woman masking her fragility with a wicked sense of humour.
Phoebe Waller-Bridge’s stellar writing credentials were cemented when she wrote and created the first season of TV series Killing Eve, earning herself Emmy, Golden Globe and BAFTA TV nominations. She’s also one of the co-writers for the upcoming James Bond film.
The production is directed by Vicky Jones and produced by DryWrite, Soho Theatre and Annapurna Theatre. Jones is the National Theatre's Playwright in Residence. Her directorial credits include Mydidae and Touch.
Designs come from Holly Pigott, lighting is by Elliot Griggs and sound is courtesy of Isobel Waller-Bridge.
Offering us a character we’ll never be able to shake off, and writing that will define our era, Fleabag is an unmissable piece of theatre. It runs for a limited number of performances at London’s Wyndham’s Theatre from 20 August 2019, with a press night on 28 August 2019.
