What is the play High Noon about?

It’s the 1800s, and in the American High West, lovers Amy Fowler and Will Kane are happily planning their future. But their new life is about to be thrown off course, as their love is tested by the return of vicious outlaw Frank Miller. Kane is the man responsible for sending Miller to prison, and now, the vagabond is eager for revenge - and due back into town on the high noon train. As the clock ticks down, Kane must make a decision - will he flee with his new love, or stay to confront his past?

The action unfolds in real time in this edge-of-your-seat drama, based on the critically acclaimed movie of the same name, often hailed as one of the greatest Westerns of all time. The film High Noon was released in 1952, starring Grace Kelly and Gary Cooper, and went on to win four Academy Awards and four Golden Globes. In 1989, High Noon was selected by the Library of Congress as one of the first 25 films to be preserved in the United States National Film Registry its “cultural, historical, or aesthetic” significance. This brand new production adapts the iconic film and brings the gunslinging Wild West action to the theatre for the first time - secure your tickets today!

Good show, just the way I like 'em, less than two hours, no intermission. The actors were very good and the small selection of singing and music was very good, too. I'm glad I didn't re-watch the original movie, so I was surprised by the plot. I woul Read more

Enjoyable play based on the classic film. Billy Crudup and Denise Gough excellent as Marshall Kane and his Quaker wife, Amy. This is a tense drama played in real time, as an on stage clock ticks inextricably towards noon when the train will bring i Read more

Enjoyable slow burner that's more focused on community than the wild west. Great casting and performances all round. Songs were a little out of place, but great to see something different
