The pair soon drag their innocent neighbours, the Featherstones, into the mix as an alibi - each claiming they have been comforting one of the Featherstones after their spouse has cheated. As the three couples' relationships intertwine, Fiona and Bob’s web of chaos, confusion and lies becomes ever more tangled.

The show later premiered in the West End in 1970, and has since had several notable revivals, including a 2016 production featuring EastEnders stars Tamsin Outhwaite and Gillian Wright. This brand new production revives the show's original in-the-round staging to hilarious effect.
