Getting into the Venue
The Novello Theatre main entrance is situated on Aldwych and must be accessed via steps. An alternative accessible entrance is available for wheelchair users on Catherine Street and leads to a chairlift that can take patrons to the Dress Circle. One wheelchair space and one transfer space is available for each performance.All sections of the theatre must be reached by stairs as there is no customer lift. This venue is not accessible for scooter users.
Customer Assistance
Staff must be notified if customers would like to use the alternative entrance on Catherine Street and are on hand to assist with navigation throughout the theatre. Those who wish to transfer from a wheelchair to fixed seating are advised to bring a companion.The Novello has room for one wheelchair and one wheelchair transfer per performance. Staff are able to store wheelchairs for the duration of the performance.
How to Book
For those who require assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book well in advance to guarantee availability and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Section Accessibility
Stalls
The Stalls can be accessed via 40 steps down towards the auditorium.
Dress Circle
The Dress Circle can be accessed via 3-10 steps. One wheelchair spaces and one transfer space are available in this section. This section is suitable for those with limited mobility.
Extra legroom can be found in the slip seats in the Dress Circle.
Grand Circle
The Grand Circle is accessible via 40 steps up towards the auditorium.
Balcony
The Balcony can be accessed via 50 steps up towards the auditorium. This section is the least suitable for those with limited mobility.
