Location

The Novello Theatre is located close to its neighbour, the Aldwych Theatre and is excellently located for Central London transport links. Close to many sightseeing options, the River Thames is just metres away, with Covent Garden and the London Transport Museum nearby, as well as Bloomsbury, Seven Dials and The Strand. There are several amenities close to the Novello Theatre, including restaurants and pubs. It is always advised to double check www.tfl.gov.uk for travel updates before embarking on your journey to the theatre.

Rail

The theatre is conveniently located between Charing Cross and City Thameslink Stations, both around a 15 minute walk away.

From Charing Cross Station’s main entrance, cross the road and turn right onto The Strand. Walk until you pass Waterloo Bridge on your right. At the junction, bear right onto Aldwych. The theatre is on your left, on the corner of Catherine Street.

From City Thameslink Station, exit onto Ludgate Hill. Turn left, crossing Farringdon Street. Ludgate Hill becomes Fleet Street, then The Strand. Bear right onto Aldwych. The theatre will be on your right at the corner of Catherine Street.

Tube

Temple station is served by the District and Circle Lines, approximately 10 minutes from the Novello. Turn left out of the station, and cross Temple Place onto Arundel Street. Walk to the end of Arundel Street, then cross The Strand onto Aldwych. Follow the road as it curves to the left. Cross Kingsway, and the theatre will be on your right at the corner of Catherine Street.

Holborn and Covent Garden are also short walks away, alternately served by the Central and Piccadilly lines.

Bus

Several bus routes stop outside the Novello Theatre, including: 6, 9, 87, 243 and 341.

Aldwych Somerset House (Stop S) on The Strand is only a few minutes from the venue, served by bus routes: 1, 4, 26, 59, 68, 76, 168, 171, 172, 188, 243, 341, and 521.

Car

The Novello Theatre is part of the Theatreland Q-Park scheme, which allows a 50% parking discount when tickets are validated by theatre staff. The nearest Q-Park car park is in Chinatown, with costs starting at £22 for up to 3 hours, and £29.50 for 4 hours.

London’s Congestion Charge Zone covers the area where the theatre is located. This costs £11.50 per weekday between 7am and 6pm but is free after that. Patrons may be dropped off outside the theatre on either Catherine Street or Aldwych.
