Operation Mincemeat Tickets

Fortune Theatre

The zany true story of the corpse that fooled Hitler is turned into a high-spirited musical that riffs on WWII films and classic showtunes.

A plucky new British musical

Did you know that World War Two was quite possibly won by a well-dressed corpse? Join a team of secret agents at the Fortune Theatre for the high-spirited, delightfully eccentric new musical Operation Mincemeat.

The year is 1943 and the Allies are losing the war. From the great young minds at MI5 comes a bizarre but brilliant idea to wrongfoot the Nazis: dress a corpse up, handcuff a briefcase of “Top Secret” documents to his arm, and wash him up on the coast of Spain.

Stranger than fiction but 100% true, this madcap plan to fool Hitler is adapted into a new musical by fringe theatre company SplitLip. Playfully dubbed “Singin’ in the Rain meets Strangers on a Train”, the Operation Mincemeat musical features a fast-paced plot, wicked humour and original songs including “God, That’s Brilliant”.

The Operation Mincemeat musical cast consists of five actors who gamely play every role. It has already tickled theatregoers’ funny bones, with sold out runs at New Diorama Theatre, Southwark Playhouse and Riverside Studios.

Part spoof, part plucky fringe show and complete bags of fun: you’ll need a very stiff upper lip to resist Operation Mincemeat musical tickets in the West End.

Operation Mincemeat - well that was a bit of fun and while the jokes and influences of Springtime for Hitler were obvious it was still thoroughly enjoyable as it narrated comedy and serious wartime story telling. It was a little frustrating that some Read more

Wow, full on energy, great performances, totally original. Although I knew the 'story' it did not distract from the entertainment of a serious subject presented in a musical comedy, which actually wasn't disrespectful in any way. Totally recommend Read more
