What is the play Woman in Mind about?

Dissatisfied housewife Susan has troubles: an estranged son who has been taken in by a cult, a failing marriage and a bumbling sister in law who’s come to stay. When Susan sustains a nasty bump to the head, her mundane reality splits in two - the real world, and a new, imagined reality inside Susan’s head. In her imagination, all of Susan’s worries have vanished, and she has a doting husband, two wonderful children, and a lavish country estate. But as the two worlds begin to blur, Susan must fight to keep a hold on reality - or disappear into the world of her imagination forever.

This groundbreaking play premiered at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, in 1985 before transferring to London’s West End to critical acclaim. Woman in Mind later premiered in Los Angeles, starring Helen Mirren as Susan, and was revived in the West End in 2008, starring Janie Dee. Now, this hilarious, heartbreaking and darkly comic play returns to London, starring Sheridan Smith. Don’t miss out - secure your tickets today.
