What Is the Musical Imitation of Life About?
Set across the neon rush of 1920s Atlantic City and the harder edges of 1930s New York, Imitation of Life follows two single mothers from different racial backgrounds who build a life together while raising their daughters. As the two daughters grow older, each of them strives for success and love in a society divided by race and class. The new musical will astound audiences in its beautiful portrayal of race, identity, motherhood and sacrifice.
