Broadway gets a Hollywood makeover as Some Like It Hot brings romance, humor and friendship to the Shubert Theatre! The beloved movie has been transformed into an irresistible new musical by the creators of Hairspray and The Book of Mormon.After witnessing a Mafia murder, friends Joe and Jerry make a quick getaway from Chicago by disguising themselves as women. They join an all-female jazz group and catch a train heading to warm and sunny Florida. Along the way, romance blossoms where they least expect it - but will they escape the gang and get a happily ever after?
Based on the beloved movie, Some Like It Hot on Broadway features a score by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray), a book by Matthew López (The Inheritance) and Amber Ruffin, and choreography and direction by The Book of Mormon’s Casey Nicholaw.
The cast includes Christian Borle as Joe, J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry, Adrianna Hicks as Sugar, Kevin Del Aguila as Osgood, Natasha Yvette Williams as Sweet Sue, Adam Heller as Mulligan and Mark Lotito as Spats.

This was excellent, an adaptation of the film, and a great feel good show, lots of tap dancing - and according to my dancer daughter, of a good technical standard rather than the usual basic time steps.

As characters were being established in first half songs were very bluesy and pace was slow. Second half picked up considerably and ended with a standing ovation. Cast is extremely talented and gave it their own. Definitely a couple of standouts. Ove Read more
