Based on the 1992 animated movie of the same name, Aladdin tells the story of a young street urchin who steals to live. When he stumbles across a magic lamp and releases the Genie, Aladdin suddenly has the chance to make all his dreams come true. With three wishes at his disposal, a whole new world is opened up and the possibilities are infinite.
Michael Maliakel currently stars as Aladdin, alongside joined by Michael James Scott (The Book of Mormon, Something Rotten!) as the Genie, Sonya Balsara as Jasmine and Dennis Stowe as Jafar.
Disney’s Aladdin features a book by four-time Tony nominee Chad Beguelin, whose musical The Prom is currently playing at the Longacre Theatre. Academy Award-winning composer Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast) and lyricists Howard Ashman and Tim Rice bring the fantastically memorable soundtrack to the stage, including “Prince Ali” and “A Whole New World”, alongside some dazzling new additions that were cut from the movie.
The musical is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw (The Prom, Mean Girls) with stunning set design from Bob Crowley bringing the world of the Arabian Nights to life.

How can I get cheap tickets for Aladdin on Broadway?
For a good deal, check reviews for seats at the sides of sections over seats in the center. Side Orchestra rows A-K are up to 35% cheaper than Center Orchestra seats, and you can get some good value tickets in this area. From G18 , just three seats in from the end of the row, the view is “very clear” and “only slightly restricted”, whilst K26 is rated 4 stars for its view. You may miss some parts of the performance, but these are worth consideration if you want to sit in the Orchestra for less.

Great show. Very cool stuff throughout. Standouts in the cast was Michael Maliakel as Aladdin and Michael James Scott as Genie. They both are world class and perfect in every way. Love all the new songs especially Proud Of Your Boy.
