Hugh Jackman returns to Broadway

Watch out for trouble, right here in New York City! Hugh Jackman returns to New York theater as a con-man struck down by love in Meredith Willson’s charming rogue of a musical.

When charismatic con artist Harold Hill arrives in River City, he has one goal in mind: swindle the locals with a tall tale about starting a band, then disappear with their cash. What he doesn’t expect is librarian Marian Paroo, who suspects his intentions are less than honorable.

As the pair size each other up, romance grows. But is Harold willing to ditch his plan to win Marian’s heart?

Academy Award winner Hugh Jackman (West End: Oklahoma!) stars as Harold Hill alongside stage star and Tony Award winner Sutton Foster (Anything Goes) as Marian.

I got this ticket for $49 by waiting in the rush line from 6 to 10 a.m. According to Telecharge, at full price, this ticket would have been an eye-watering $519. This show is definitely worth it at $49, but if Hugh Jackman isn't worth the extra hundr Read more

Hugh and Sutton were perfect in their roles. You could also tell they were having a really good time with each other on stage with Hugh trying his best to make Sutton laugh at key moments and Sutton (mostly) being able to resist the urge ! Overall, a Read more

Can I meet the cast of The Music Man at the stage door?

The cast of The Music Man are not currently participating in meet-and-greets or signings at the stage door. This is for the health and safety of both audience members and cast and crew working on the show.

Are Rush tickets available for The Music Man?

$49 rush tickets for The Music Man are available in person at the Winter Garden Theatre box office. They go on sale from 10am, with a limit of 2 per person and are subject to availability. It is best to get in line early, before 7.30am if possible, as tickets sell quickly.

Rush tickets are for seats across the auditorium so the view cannot be guaranteed. However these are currently the cheapest tickets for The Music Man and considered a steal even in restricted view seats.

Which seats are the cheapest at The Music Man?

In the Orchestra, seats are cheapest from number 17 and above in the Left and Right Orchestra. From these seats, you may miss Hugh Jackman's entrance and some action upstage and at the far sides, but most of The Music Man takes place front and center stage.

Seats beyond row E of the Mezzanine are some of the cheapest in the house - although still upwards of $190 - and don't feel too far from the stage at a big musical like this. Choose seats numbered lower than 20, like Mezzanine J14 , to enjoy a great view of this dazzling show for over $200 less than the premium price.

Which restricted view seats are good value for money at The Music Man?

The Winter Garden Theatre is wider than it is deep, and seat numbers above 25 in both sections may be marked as restricted view. However, seats such as Orchestra O40 and Orchestra F26 can be good value if you don't mind missing some peripheral action and set pieces.

Theatergoers note that some scenes in The Music Man take place on a slightly raised platform, which can be difficult to see from the far left. However one reviewer who sat in Mezzanine B57 said that "all critical parts of the show were in full view".
