The Comedy About Spies Tickets
Opens 1st August
MI5? More like LOL! Mischief Theatre’s spy comedy, set in a world of espionage, returns, featuring spies, mistaken identity and more!
The Comedy About Spies in London
Theatre fans, your mission - if you choose to accept it - is simple: enjoy some of the biggest laughs in the West End with The Comedy About Spies! This riotous play from Mischief Theatre, the team behind the hilarious The Play That Goes Wrong, returns to London this August for a strictly limited run following a sell-out summer season in 2025. “Bigger, better and more brilliantly bungling than ever” (Daily Mail), The Comedy About Spies dives into the murky world of espionage in 1960s London. With stolen plans for a top-secret weapon, hurried meetings in hotels, and a hefty dose of mistaken identity, this Cold War farce is a little less suave than Bond, but much funnier! Don’t find yourself out of the loop: catch this five-star comedy play as it comes to the Adelphi Theatre, just off the Strand, this summer.
What Is The Comedy About Spies About?
It’s London in the 1960s, and there’s fashion, rockin’ music and intrigue at every turn. When a rogue British agent steals top-secret plans for a new weapon, spies from the CIA and KGB meet at the Piccadilly Hotel to smoke out the treacherous mole. This is a Mischief Theatre play, though, so nothing’s simple… and the hotel is coincidentally welcoming a young British couple and an actor auditioning for the first ever James Bond film at the same time!
A straightforward mission for the world’s most daring spies quickly turns into a mess of mistaken identity and miscommunication. As the stakes get higher, will the traitor be found in time?
This side-splitting Cold War farce brings together the best tropes from your favourite spy films and flips them on their head. The result? A madcap spoof full of bumbling agents, confused guests, valiantly misguided heroism… and one of the funniest nights out in London.
The Comedy About Spies premiered at the Noel Coward Theatre in summer 2025, and returns for a second missing this August - for eight weeks only!
