Getting into the Venue

The main entrance is below ground in the Colonnade Building, with eight steps down to the lobby. Step free access to Astor Place Theatre is via a LiftKar stair crawler (LiftKar PTS). Patrons can transfer into the LiftKar and will be escorted downstairs by the theater’s trained security staff. Please note that patrons’ own mobility devices are carried downstairs by theater staff, so cannot exceed 50lbs.

There are six transfer seats, with companion seats next to them, across rows DD - RR in the Poncho/Orchestra and two wheelchair spaces, with companion seats, in Orchestra Row PP. There are four transfer seats in the Mezzanine, each with a companion seat. Two are on Row A and two on Row F.

Customer Assistance

In the lobby, patrons can transfer back to their mobility device or rent a wheelchair. A member of staff can assist with movement around the theater in rented wheelchairs.

Patrons using the LiftKar can leave their mobility devices in the care of theater security staff for the duration of the show. They can also request first exit from the auditorium at the end of the show.  All other areas of the theater are accessible, including the restroom, merchandise counters and auditorium.

Assistive Listening Devices are available. Please ask the house manager for more information.
