Set in 2007, an album of Nazi-era photographs arrives on the desk of Rebecca Erbelding, a U.S Holocaust Memorial archivist. Unlike any other images seen before, the curators begin to unravel the truth behind the images, and it soon makes headlines. It ignites a deep debate that reverberates far beyond the museum walls. Based on real events, Here There Are Blueberries reveals the “chilling mundanity of downtime for off-duty Nazi officers” (The Stage).

The History of Here There Are Blueberries

Here There Are Blueberries was first staged as a work in progress at the Colony Theatre in 2018 before making its subsequent premieres at the La Jolla Playhouse in 2022, and the New York Theatre Workshop in 2024. The play received a Drama League Award nomination and won the 2025 Lucille Lortel Award for Outstanding Play. Recently, the production was staged in the UK with a limited season at the Royal Stratford East in London.
