    An electrifying new jukebox musical

Michael Jackson’s extraordinary career takes center stage in MJ, a new jukebox musical revealing the ingenuity behind the King of Pop’s dizzying rise to the top of the charts.

From the cinematic Thriller music video to the famous sharp fashion, Michael Jackson dominated pop culture conversations for decades with his innovative art and tempestuous personal life. MJ the Musical reveals the man behind the moonwalk and highlights the hard work and creative process that propelled him to superstardom.

Myles Frost stars as Michael Jackson, in his Broadway debut.

Featuring more than 25 of Jackson’s best-loved songs set to director Christopher Wheeldon’s snappy choreography, MJ the Musical is written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Lynn Nottage (Sweat).

This is a really good show. The lead actor playing Michael Jackson is amazing as are the younger actors playing young Michael. Most musical numbers are a spectacle and fun to watch. The only annoying thing is some audience members using their phones to film some of the musical numbers. The usher had to wave her flashlight at the culprits which is distracting during the show. Honestly, they should have just asked the people to leave at intermission. Very annoying for the theatergoers sitting around the rude people.

MJ really rocks. I see why it won the Tony for choreography. It sure skirts a lot of issues though. No mention of his sexuality, marriage, children (his or otherwise!). But visually and musically it’s pretty amazing.

Understudy was on for MJ and he was INCREDIBLE! Overall great production but as the critics said the book is a bit too cheesy / portraying MJ a bit too much as suffering constantly. But great musical arrangements and some moments of brilliant staging.
