Best Seats Money Can Buy
If you have a fortune to rival Prince Fiyero’s, the best seats in the house for Wicked are in the Orchestra Rows BB-P, giving an excellent view of the including the clockwork Time Dragon above the proscenium arch, or in the center of Mezzanine Rows A-D.

- Orchestra Rows DD-G (from $328). Central seats give close-up views of expressions, with enough distance to see the impressive set. User zeerosd said that Orchestra G109 was “the best seat in the theatre”, and the “most comfortable seat I’ve ever sat in on Broadway.”
- Central Mezzanine Rows A-D (from $328) for an excellent overview of the set. User samr32 said Mezzanine C112 offered “an incredible seat and view.”
Also Consider: Seats to the sides of the Orchestra (from $194) offer excellent views at up to 40% less than top-price tickets.
Best Cheap Seats
If your budget is more Thropp than Upland, the cheapest seats in the house are in Orchestra Rows Y-ZZ or Mezzanine Rows N-H. The Gershwin is a large venue, so facial expressions may not be as clear from the Mezzanine.

- Orchestra Rows Y-ZZ (from $124). Though these are toward the back of the auditorium, a decent rake means there are no obstructions. jacobr (who has seen the show six times) says that “everything is in sight” from Orchestra X101, which is “good for the value”.
- Mezzanine N-H (from $124). These seats are toward the back and sides, but still offer clear views, particularly of the set and dance numbers.
- If you’re happy to pay a little more, Mezzanine Rows M-K ($144) and Orchestra Rows Y-Z (from $144) offer more central views.

Best Seats For Defying Gravity
“Defying Gravity” is one of the most iconic numbers in the show, so to get the best view of this spectacular song, theatergoers should opt for seats in the center Orchestra or center Mezzanine. Balcony overhang is minimal throughout this venue, so even rear Orchestra seats should have an unobstructed view.

- Central Orchestra (from $156). Central seats up close mean Elphaba will soar above you at the crucial moment, and facial expressions will be crystal clear.
- Central Mezzanine Rows A-G (from $156). Seats upstairs give an excellent overview of the choreography, as well as putting theatergoers in a perfect position to view flying scenes.
Also Consider: Seats to the side of the Mezzanine. User matthewd31 sat in F6 (from $144) and said that for “Elphaba’s Act 1 finale [this seat] puts you almost eye level with her”.
Seats to Avoid
Theater seating is highly subjective – someone’s pink could be another’s green, but our users would recommend avoiding Mezzanine Row F, particularly for those who need extra legroom, or certain seats to the side of the Orchestra if it’s your first time attending.

- Orchestra BB5 (from $278). User kendrellg said they loved this up-close seat for a return visit, but “wouldn’t recommend it if it’s your first viewing of the show” due to some slight restrictions.
- Mezzanine F105 (from $156). User ashleywinter said, “This is probably the worst row in the theatre” due to a carpeted barrier in front that restricted both legroom and the view slightly.
- Another user in Mezzanine F1said that the barrier made the legroom tight, but sitting on an aisle alleviated the issue.
Reviews for these seats can vary, so it’s always worth checking reviews and weighing up pros and cons to consider whether they’d be suitable.
Hidden Gems
You’ll be dancing through life with these secret seats. Our users think these specific Orchestra seats are real hidden gems, due to price, ease of exit and extra legroom.
