Written, choreographed and directed by Rajeev Goswami, Beyond Bollywood follows Shaily Shergill as she leaves behind her German home to venture to India. On a mission to fulfil her mother’s dying wish of reviving her family’s failing theatre, Beyond Bollywood is an emotional and uplifting tale that brings to the fire, heat and desire of Indian folk dance to the forefront. Dancer Ana Ilmi stars as Shaily Shergill, alongside Mohit Mather, Pooja Pant, Sudeep Modak, Anson Mathew, Kumar Sharman and Prajakta Gore. Beyond Bollywood features original music and lyrics from spectacular creative talents Salim Sulaiman and Irfan Siddiqui, who combine their skills to create the bright Bollywood soundtrack. The production also features colourful costume by Jennifer Lucien.
Featuring a myriad of dance styles which can be found throughout India, including ihu, Garba, Kathak, Lezim and Kalbelia, Beyond Bollywood promises to be an entirely unique West End treat.
