Getting into the Venue
There is step-free access to His Majesty’s Theatre main entrance on Haymarket, which leads directly to the foyer and Box Office counter. An alternative entrance is available via a second exit door on Charles II Street. This entrance has direct access to the Stalls from street level, over a gentle slope to the rear right of the Stalls and to wheelchair spaces.All sections of the auditorium must be accessed by steps, as there is no customer lift. Staircases have handrails and some steps are highlighted.
The Stalls are recommended for wheelchair users. Wheelchair spaces are accessible via the alternative entrance on Charles II Street. There is a gentle slope towards the rear right of the Stalls, where there are 4 wheelchair spaces available. Spaces are located in Row S.
Customer Assistance
For those who wish to use the alternative entrance, the Theatre Manager must be notified upon arrival to the theatre. Staff will then lead customers to the accessible entrance on Charles II Street.An Usher will be dedicated to access patrons, who can assist with any requirements. An at-seat service is available for those who cannot leave the auditorium during the interval. Those wishing to transfer into fixed seating are advised to bring a companion. Transfers are available to any aisle seat in the Stalls. Staff are able to store wheelchairs for the duration of the performance.
How to Book
For those who require special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Section Accessibility
Stalls
The Stalls can be accessed via 22 steps down to the Stalls bar and a further 18 steps up towards the auditorium. Staircases have handrails and some steps are highlighted. The Stalls are recommended for those with limited mobility.
Wheelchair spaces are accessible step-free, via an alternative entrance on Charles II Street. There is a gentle slope towards the rear right of the Stalls, where there are 4 wheelchair spaces available. Spaces are located on Row S, which is the last row in the section, to the left of S12 and towards the aisle of the Stalls. Patrons are able to sit to the left of wheelchair users, however may not be able to sit next to the patron. Transfers are available to any aisle seat in the Stalls.
Row S is the last row in the Stalls and offers a slightly restricted view due to the overhang of the Royal Circle. There are also support pillars placed sporadically throughout the seating, which may disrupt the view.
Extra legroom can be found in seats E1, E25, F1, F25, G1, G25, N1 and N28 as there are no seats in front.
Royal Circle
The Royal Circle is 32 steps up from the foyer, with handrails and some highlighted steps. Once in the auditorium, there are 2 steep steps between each row.
Extra legroom can be found in the aisle seats.
Grand Circle
The Grand Circle is 62 steps up from the foyer, with handrails and some highlighted steps. Once in the auditorium, there are 2 steep steps between each row. This section is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
Balcony
The Balcony is 89 steps up from the foyer, with handrails and some highlighted steps. Once in the auditorium, there are 2 steep steps between each row. This section can seem very steep and is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
