The Sondheim Theatre is one of the many theatres on the famous Shaftesbury Avenue, putting it in a great location for transport links, sightseeing and many other activities. It is on the border of Soho and between Piccadilly Circus and Seven Dials, so there are plenty of bars, restaurants and cafes near the theatre. Oxford Street, Piccadilly and Regent Street all offer excellent shopping opportunities, and there are two large parks about 10 minutes away. Charing Cross Station is between 15 and 20 minutes away from the Sondheim Theatre. On exiting the station, turn left toward Trafalgar Square, walking along until the National Gallery. As the road veers left, it turns into Pall Mall. Follow the road and take the first right onto Whitcomb Street, continuing until Wardour Street at Leicester Square. After following the road, get to Shaftesbury Avenue, and the theatre is on the left.Tube
Piccadilly Circus is the closest tube station to the theatre, where both the Piccadilly and Bakerloo lines stop. Whilst still underground, choose the Shaftesbury Avenue exit. Once you are above ground, walk away from Piccadilly Circus, on the left side of Shaftesbury Avenue. Cross Denman and Great Windmill Street, then Rupert Street. The theatre is on your left on the corner of Wardour Street.Leicester Square tube station is also close to the Sondheim Theatre, served by the Northern and Piccadilly lines. It is about a 7 minute walk from the theatre.
Bus
Bus routes 14, 19 and 38 serve Shaftesbury Avenue, stopping close to the theatre. Around Piccadilly Circus, you can also find the following routes: 6, 12, 23, 88, 94, 139, 159 and 453. These stop at different points on Regent Street and Piccadilly Circus.Car
The Sondheim Theatre participates in Q-Park’s Theatreland scheme, giving theatre patrons 50% off parking costs. The Soho and Chinatown car parks are within 10 minutes from the theatre with costs starting at £22 for up to 3 hours, and £29.50 for 4 hours.London’s Congestion Charge Zone covers the whole of Theatreland. The daily cost of driving in this area is £11.50 between 7am and 6pm. Drivers and taxis may drop off outside the theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue and Wardour Street.
