Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Artists, BalletBoyz team up with an incredible collective of composers and choreographers to present a stunning quartet of dances, devised in only 14 days. This thrilling production of experimental work arrives at Sadler’s Wells’ stage this October.
Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Artists, BalletBoyz present a quartet of world premieres that showcase the stunning range and versatility of their accomplished dance troupe in 14 Days – BalletBoyz. Arriving on the London stage this October the extraordinary ensemble dance four pieces devised by a team of acclaimed choreographers and composers, in just fourteen days.
Choreographers Javier de Frutos, Craig Revel Horwood, Iván Pérez and Christopher Wheeldon have joined forces with composers Scott Walker, Charlotte Harding, Joby Talbot and Keaton Henson to create their pieces for the company.
Fallen forms the second half of the evening, choreographed by Sadler’s Wells Associate Artist Russell Maliphant and set to an enchanting and emotive score by French film composer Armand Amar. The piece won the award for Best Modern Choreography at the 2013 National Dance Awards and features lighting design from Sadler’s Wells’ Associate Artist Michael Hulls.
BalletBoyz is the brainchild of Michael Nunn and Billy Trevitt who founded the company in 2000. During the duo’s 12 years at Royal Ballet Upper School they danced all the principal roles between them, before branching out to form their own company.
Michael and Billy have gone on to select eight young male dancers from a variety of backgrounds, offering mentorship and coaching to create a company of first-class performers. Now in its eighth year, the company has expanded to ten dancers and regularly tours both nationally in the UK and internationally.
This stunning, experimental evening of dance arrives at Sadler’s Wells for a limited run from the 10th to 14th October 2017.
