Cambridge Theatre Seat Guide

The Cambridge Theatre London has a capacity of 1247 seats. Section capacities are 497 Stalls, 295 Dress Circle and 443 Upper Circle. Use our interactive seating plan to view 5463 seat reviews and 4435 view from seat photos.

The Cambridge Theatre has broadly good views across the auditorium, with its mid-size meaning no seat feels particularly distant from the stage. When choosing your seats, keep in mind:

  • There are no support pillars that restrict views - making the rear Stalls a good option.
  • An Art Deco ceiling frames the proscenium and can overshadow the view in the Upper Circle.
  • Legroom is somewhat tight in the Upper Circle, making it less ideal for tall people.

Check SeatPlan's audience-submitted seat view photos and reviews to see how individual seats compare before booking.

Best Seats for Matilda

Both little maggots and adults are welcome at Matilda the Musical, but you'll want to know where to sit! The best seats for families are in the middle of the Stalls, which offer both incredible views of the stage and a few surprises throughout. If you're feeling extra brave, choose the front three rows to see actors glide overhead on swings during one of the show's musical numbers.

Up in the Dress Circle, you'll get fantastic, elevated views, and you can spend time pre-show or during the interval spotting all the words hidden in the arch surrounding the stage.

For the best cheap seats, take a look at Rows A-C of the Upper Circle, which doesn't feel too distant and gives a good wide look at the action below.

Good value seats

The Upper Circle provides excellent views of the stage, and the front section does not feel as distant from the stage as in other theatres. Aim to sit in the second or third row, as close to the centre as possible for the clearest views.

Premium seats

Sitting in row B or C of the Dress Circle (for example C18 ) provides excellent views of both the show and the beautiful theatre itself. Sit in the Stalls to enjoy a more immersive experience, with acting, set and costume details all easy to see.
