Diana Goodman is a wife and mother in suburban America, looking after her teenage kids and juggling a thousand things at once. She is also living with bipolar disorder, and haunted by the mistakes of her past. This powerful and intimate story about a far-from-average family was first on Broadway in 2009, where it won three Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama. With fizzing, rock-heavy songs from Tom Kitt, this is an engrossing 21st-century show that the New York Times dubbed a “feel-everything musical”.
