TONY! [The Tony Blair Rock Opera] Tickets

Leicester Square Theatre

A rip-roaring musical of rock and politics, TONY! re-examines the rise and career of Britain’s first pop Prime Minister.

A musical that puts the “political” in “politically incorrect”

How does one wannabe pop-star go on to become one of Britain’s most controversial Prime Ministers? TONY! The Tony Blair Rock Opera is the outrageous new musical from primetime comedian Harry Hill and hilarious comic & composer, Steve Brown.

Featuring an ensemble of real but larger-than-life characters such as Princess Diana, John Prescott, Gordon Brown, Peter Mendelson, Osama Bin Laden, George W Bush and Saddam Hussein, TONY! takes us back to the time of Britpop and Cool Britannia and the turbulent political upheavals of the late 90s and early 2000s. Described by The New European as “colossally tasteless”, this boundary-pushing show is one for only the most robust senses of humour.

TONY! The Tony Blair Rock Opera garnered rave reviews during a sold-out run at the Park Theatre, including five stars from Theatre Weekly and The Daily Mail. It’s a hilarious, satirical romp that has been described as “Yes, Minister meets The Rocky Horror Show.”

If you were around when Tony Blair was PM you'll appreciate this show. Not sure how much it would resonate with younger people, but was very well done.

Performance date: 14 May 2023

Fun, lively, satirical show about Tony Blair's life and political highs and lows. Good score and songs. Some very amusing characterisations of politicians at the time. Worth seeing.
