The trial that gripped the nation

Were you Team Vardy or Team Rooney? Go behind the scenes of the court case that had everyone talking in new show Vardy v Rooney: The Wagatha Christie Trial.

When footballer’s wife Coleen Rooney publicly accused fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy of leaking private information to the press, the internet and gossip columns flew into a frenzy. This modern-day sleuthing, playfully deemed worthy of an Agatha Christie whodunit, was soon followed by a libel case in the high court.

Now, West End audiences can relive the drama with Wagatha Christie Trial tickets, as the case is retold in the women’s own words. Jumping from amateur sting operations to front-page news, this hilarious and intriguing show invites us to witness what really happened behind closed doors.

The show is adapted by Liv Hennessy, directed by Lisa Spirling and designed by Polly Sullivan. Lucy May Barker and Laura Dos Santos star as Rebekah Vardy and Coleen Rooney.

This high-stakes drama blurred the boundaries between tabloids, social media and reality, and now you are invited to sit in session with tickets for The Wagatha Christie Trial at the Ambassadors Theatre.

Wasn't sure what to expect as I didn't really follow the trial, though I was aware of it taking place (how could you not), but it was really funny, very clever. Worth a viewing.
