Belasco Theatre accessibility

Getting into the Venue

The theater’s main entrance on 111 West 44th Street is not step-free, with two steps into the Box Office and lobby. Access to Belasco Theatre for wheelchair users is via step-free door to the left of the main entrance. At the end of the Box Office there is one accessible window of a lowered height.

Designated wheelchair seating is in the step-free Orchestra, towards the middle and back of the section. Aisle seats with transfer arms are available across the Orchestra and Mezzanine, although please be aware that the Mezzanine is up one flight of steps and may not be advised for patrons with limited mobility.

Customer Assistance

Wheelchair and companion seating is available step-free in rows J, L, O and P of the Orchestra. Transfer seats with folding armrests are available from rows H backwards in the Orchestra and in the rear of the Mezzanine. The Mezzanine is reached by one flight of stairs plus two steps up to each row, therefore caution should be taken before booking if patrons have limited mobility.

Please be advised that staff may be unable to assist with steps inside the venue. It is therefore advisable to bring a companion.

One wheelchair accessible restroom is available on Orchestra level. Other restrooms are located down one flight of steps, or upstairs in the Mezzanine and Balcony.

How to Book

Section accessibility

Orchestra

The Belasco Theatre Orchestra section is entirely step-free for all patrons. There are eight designated wheelchair spaces across rows J-P, and a further eight transfer seats with folding armrests are available across rows H-P.

Companion seats for patrons using accessible seating are also available.

Mezzanine

The Mezzanine is only accessible by one flight of stairs, with a further two steps up to each row. Every row with steps has a handrail to further aid patrons.

Four aisle seats with folding armrests are spread across the Left and Center Mezzanine, although due to the rake of the section and lack of elevators or escalators, these options are not recommended for patrons with limited mobility.

Please be aware that the Mezzanine is not wheelchair accessible.

Balcony

The Balcony is only accessible by two flights of stairs, with a further two steps up to every row. Where there are steps up to rows, handrails are provided. Please be advised that patrons should practice caution before booking in this section, as the steep rake is not advised for anyone with limited mobility.

The Balcony does not include any designated wheelchair or transferable seating and is inaccessible to wheelchairs.
