Charing Cross Theatre is a very intimate space with two main layouts, depending on the production being staged. The first is an end-on configuration, with a block of Stalls seats facing towards the stage, divided by a horizontal aisle behind Row J. On either side, there is a single vertical row of bench seats with a side view of the stage. The other layout is a traverse setup, which has the stage in between two blocks of Stalls seating. Upstairs, the Balcony comprises a slips-style row at either side, with an elevated view.
This venue is a brilliant place to watch small new plays and especially musicals, with a very close and atmospheric feel from many of the seats. Views tend to be great downstairs, thanks to a decent rake at the rear of the Stalls and very few physical restrictions that you might find in larger, traditional theatres. The Balcony is less desirable because of an angled view and lighting equipment sometimes getting in the way, but prices reflect this.

The rear of the Stalls is often cheaper than the front rows, offering an excellent overall view of the stage that only feels slightly distant. Sit in rows K-M for a great view on a discounted price.
Sitting in the Stalls is the best option, with seats around Row J offering the best overall view of the stage. Due to the high rake, any seats in this section offer great views. Sit further back for a better overall view of the stage, especially for large musicals.
