Getting into the Venue
There is step-free access to the Fortune Theatre main entrance, which is located on Russell Street. The Box Office is situated on the right as you enter the theatre foyer. A drop-off section is available on Russell Street.Step-free accessible seating areas at the Fortune Theatre are in the Dress Circle and Box A. These can both be reached via an alternative side exit on Crown Court, with a Stannah platform lift able to climb 5 steps to the section. There are two wheelchair spaces in the Dress Circle. An accessible toilet is also located, step free, next to the Dress Circle entrance.
Customer Assistance
Staff are on hand in the foyer, should assistance be required. Seat transfers are available into Row F of the Dress Circle and it is recommended that a wheelchair user bring a companion to assist. Staff are able to store wheelchairs or scooters for the duration of the performance.If customers speak to the Manager upon arrival, it can be arranged that drinks are brought to access patrons in the auditorium.
How to Book
For those who need special assistance or wish to book wheelchair spaces, it is important to book in advance and notify the theatre of any special requirements. Section Accessibility
Stalls
The Stalls are 21 steps down from the foyer, with handrails either side.
Extra legroom can be found in the Stalls.
Dress Circle
The Dress Circle is the most accessible section in the theatre and is 7 steps down from the foyer. There is an alternative entrance via a side exit on Crown Court, which has 5 steps and a Stannah platform lift for wheelchair users. Box A is also accessible from the Crown Court entrance.
The dimensions of the Stannah platform lift are 71cm wide x 85cm long, with a maximum total weight of 225kg, or 35 stone. Unfortunately, mobility scooters and larger electric wheelchairs exceeding the size of the platform lift cannot be accommodated.
Row F is the back row of the Dress Circle and can be accessed without steps. There are also two wheelchair spaces in the Dress Circle.

Upper Circle
The Upper Circle is 40 steps up from the foyer, with handrails either side. This section is not recommended for those with limited mobility.
