Michael Morpurgo’s beloved story about one boy discovering the magic of reading is adapted for the stage with enchanting results.

Celebrate the power of storytelling

An enchanting tale of books, unity and one boy’s magical journey comes alive on stage in I Believe in Unicorns at the Apollo Theatre. Beloved children’s author Michael Morpurgo’s story is perfect entertainment for the young and young at heart.

Tomas hates school and hates reading, but when he meets the Unicorn Lady in his local library his world is turned upside down. Set against the backdrop of war-torn Europe, this spellbinding story about the power of reading, imagination and unity is adapted from War Horse writer Michael Morpurgo’s treasured book of the same name.

Award-winning storyteller Danyah Miller transforms Morpurgo’s tale for the stage, in a moving and interactive production that will capture your imaginations no matter your age.

I Believe in Unicorns won an Argus Angel Award for Artistic Excellence at the Brighton Festival, and has enchanted audiences in a series of successful runs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and the Southbank Centre. Wherever it goes, a love of storytelling invites theatregoers into a library filled with possibilities.

Hailed by Michael Morpurgo as “a glorious example of the magic of storytelling”, book I Believe in Unicorns tickets to join Tomas on his adventure.
