Peppa has already charmed families with Peppa Pig’s Party, Peppa Pig’s Treasure Hunt and Peppa Pig’s Big Splash, and this new production by children’s theatre expert Richard Lewis puts the eponymous little pig and her brother, George, in the spotlight once again. Peppa Pig’s Surprise follows the fun and games that take place over the course of one very lovely day. Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig have planned a wonderful surprise – but try as they might, Peppa, George, and the enraptured young audience members cannot guess what it is!
Director, Richard Lewis, has a tried and tested formula for keeping mini attention spans engaged in all sorts of theatre. His theory is that there should be something new to interact with every 15-20 seconds – and this is put to the test in Peppa Pig’s Surprise, to wonderful effect. If the excitement of seeing life-sized Peppa, George, Mummy Pig and Daddy Pig isn’t enough, Lewis’ adaptation features plenty of bright colours, life-sized puppets, sound effects, games, activities and audience participation to keep everyone on their toes.
