Come along as Mouse sets off on a daring journey into the dark woods in search of food. It's not long before Mouse bumps into Owl, Fox and Snake. These slippery predators have rumbling tummies, and Mouse must devise a cunning plan in order to avoid becoming dinner. She distracts them with the terrifying story of the Gruffalo, a formidable creature who is half grizzly bear and half buffalo. But is this mythical beast really just a product of Mouse's imagination?
This popular show was based on former children's Laureate Julia Donaldson’s book of the same name which is just one in a collection of well-loved stories, including 'The Gruffalo's Child', ‘Room on a Broom’, ‘The Snail and the Whale’ and ‘The Smartest Giant in Town’. Inspiration for the set of The Gruffalo is taken from Axel Scheffler’s iconic illustrations that feature in the original picture book.
Since its 2001 premiere, The Gruffalo has toured worldwide, with lauded runs in London, Asia and Australia's Sydney Opera House as well as Broadway. With a smooth 55 minute running time, and spilling over with comedy, interactions, music and physical theatre, The Gruffalo is designed especially for mini attention spans in mind.
