How far would you go to land your ideal job? This out-of-work actor has finally made it big on the Broadway stage – disguised as a woman who has captured the heart of a nation. Now too deep into his lie, he finds himself flung from one awkward and hilarious situation to another.

Based on the hit comedy film from 1982, starring Dustin Hoffman and Jessica Lange, Tootsie has been brought up to date and adapted for the stage. After a Tony Award-winning run on Broadway in 2019, Tootsie is set for a 2020 US tour as well as a West End transfer in 2021.

Tootsie features a book by Robert Horn and music and lyrics by David Yazbek. Yazbek’s other musical credits include Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown and The Band's Visit.

The Broadway production starred Santino Fontana (Hello, Dolly!) as Michael/Dorothy. His performance won him a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical. Other stars included Lilli Cooper (Spongebob Squarepants the Broadway Musical) and Sarah Styles (Hand to God). London casting is yet to be announced.

With multiple awards adorning her sequined dress, Dorothy Michaels is bound to be a hit when she finally arrives on the West End. Tootsie is a hilarious and uplifting musical that, like Michael Dorsey, will do whatever it takes to get the audience cheering.
