A Christmas Carol Tickets
Phelim McDermott’s new adaptation of Charles Dickens’ classic festive novel takes us on a journey through the life of miserly Ebenezeer Scrooge, courtesy of the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come. Starring Jim Broadbent as Scrooge and featuring puppets and movement directed by War Horse choreographer Toby Sedgewick, A Christmas Carol is a guaranteed holiday spectacle.
With Christmas just around the corner, the miserly Ebenezer Scrooge has no room in his cold heart for his fellow man. With greed constantly getting the better of him, Scrooge isolates himself and detests those around him, including his struggling employee, Bob Cratchit. Alone on Christmas Eve, he is visited by the chained ghost of his former business partner who warns him of the eternal dangers of living a selfish existence. What follows is a journey through Scrooge’s life as he discovers his impact on those around him, accompanied by the ghosts of Christmases Past, Present and Yet to Come. In a tale that embodies the festive spirit, we see his transformation from miserly outcast to a gentle and kindly neighbour.
Jim Broadbent, best known for roles in Iris, Moulin Rouge! and the Harry Potter films, appears as Scrooge in what is the latest adaptation of one of the most popular festive stories of all time. He is joined by Adeel Akhtar (Pan, The Dictator), Amelia Bulmore (Sherlock, Twenty Twelve) and Samantha Spiro (Merrily We Roll Along, Hello, Dolly!). This magical tale is brought to life by magnificent puppets with movement directed by Olivier Award-winning movement director Toby Sedgewick, whose stunning work with life-sized horse puppets in War Horse promises great things for this production.
